Note: You are viewing the documentation for an older major version of the AWS CLI (version 1).
AWS CLI version 2, the latest major version of AWS CLI, is now stable and recommended for general use. This command is deprecated in AWS CLI version 2, use get-login-password instead. For more information see the AWS CLI version 2 installation instructions and migration guide.

Description¶
Note: This command is deprecated. Use get-login-password instead.
To log in to an Amazon ECR registry
This command retrieves an authentication token using the GetAuthorizationToken API, and then it prints a dockerlogin command with the authorization token and, if you specified a registry ID, the URI for an Amazon ECR registry. You can execute the printed command to authenticate to the registry with Docker. After you have authenticated to an Amazon ECR registry with this command, you can use the Docker CLI to push and pull images to and from that registry as long as your IAM principal has access to do so until the token expires. The authorization token is valid for 12 hours.

Note
This command displays dockerlogin commands to stdout withauthentication credentials. Your credentials could be visible by otherusers on your system in a process list display or a command history. If youare not on a secure system, you should consider this risk and logininteractively. For more information, see get-authorization-token.
See 'aws help' for descriptions of global parameters.
Synopsis¶Options¶
--registry-ids (string)A list of AWS account IDs that correspond to the Amazon ECR registries that you want to log in to.
--include-email | --no-include-email (boolean)Specify if the '-e' flag should be included in the 'docker login' command. The '-e' option has been deprecated and is removed in Docker version 17.06 and later. You must specify --no-include-email if you're using Docker version 17.06 or later. The default behavior is to include the '-e' flag in the 'docker login' output.
See 'aws help' for descriptions of global parameters.

Step 2: Customize and Push to Docker Hub
The last step used an official Docker image. Next step, create your own custom image. You should have a Docker ID, you probably created it to download Docker Desktop.
In your favorite text editor create a file called Dockerfile in the same directory you used in step 1. No extension, just Dockerfile. Paste in this code and save the file:
This tells Docker to use the same nginx base image, and create a layer that adds in the HTML you created in the last step. Instead of creating a volume that accesses the file directly from the host you are running on, it adds the file to the image. To build the image, in your terminal, type:
Two things, first replace <YourDockerID> with your Docker ID. Also notice the “.” at the end of the line. That tells Docker to build in the context of this directory. So when it looks to COPY the file to /usr/share/nginx/html it will use the file from this directory.
You can run it:
And go to http://localhost:8080 to see the page.
Next login to Docker Hub. You can do this directly from Docker Desktop. Or you can do it from the command line by typing.
Docker Desktop Mac
Finally push your image to Docker Hub:
Mac Docker Install
You may be asked to login if you haven’t already. Then you can go to hub.docker.com, login and check your repositories
